happy sunday to all...

in atlanta...just watched one of the best games i have been at...#1 alabama vs #2 florida...the gators won 31-20...in a game where both teams played well-- it's just that the gators made big plays at the end of each half when they needed to...in the words of one of my

favorite florida boys, joakim noah - the gator boys are hot right now...

***my thoughts on the gators and tim tebow are very high...i really respect t. tebow and think he is an excellent leader and example for not only athletes but everyone...he does things the right way, he knows how to get people behind him and on his side, and he genuinely loves what he does...much love to him and i hope he gets his 2nd 

heisman next saturday...i know his numbers are not as high as the other candidates nor as high as tebow's own numbers last year...but he faced tougher defenses and the opponents best shot week in and week out...after the gators loss at ole miss - tebow rallied his troops and promised that he would lead his team - that they would not be outworked nor outplayed...and he came through on that promise...the heisman is looking for the most outstanding player in college football- and that's tim tebow.

so just returned from the press conference for the new coach of the volunteers, lane kiffin...(quite the looker might i add) thought it went very well and was impressed with the way he conducted/spoke for himself...although i still haven't seen the dude truly smile...but i am hopeful...he has a lovey wife that dresses to impress...i think (and hope) the vol faithful will get encouraged by lane's enthusiasm and all be ready to get UT back to the top!!!

basketball lost last night to gonzaga...they are going to have to learn to play defense...the rematch with gonzaga on jan 7 will be a must see matchup...big fan of #15 m. bouldin on the zag's squad....big SEC matchup this weekend in atlanta with the gators and tide...i'm pulling for the gators and hope they win so they can be in miami for the national championship game!!!

really pumped for britney's return!!! her new album drops tomorrow...i think she is really serious about her comeback and is going to rock it!!!

so....here we are....survived thanksgiving/birthday/fulmer's last game/vols-ladyvols games...watching the men play gonzaga right now...

my early thoughts on this are....i like #15 for gonzaga...he wears his pants kinda high-- but his shaggy curly hair is cute....we need to play defense...and i don't like the orange polo's the coaches are wearing...

but moving on..

school will be finishing up this week...i am ready for the holiadys-- the parties/gatherings, food, giving, family time, ball games....gonna be a fun month...

***so john legend and estelle are performing at the ryman in nashville on january 26...anybody want to road trip??? would be an awesome performance because the ryman is small and quaint...and i love both of them!

aloha to all...happy day...and brrrrr it's cold out there...seriously i walk out of my apartment and flurries are coming down...

***well so far i have really enjoyed espn's 24 hour basketball coverage...watched most of the memphis v umass game...seems like their star freshman point guard, evans is legit...watching memphis in the final four last year in san antonio -- all i remember is their speed was ridiculously quick...they still seem to have quite the athletes...

***the lady vols had a tough loss monday night against #15 ranked virginia...they made some dumb mistakes in the final minutes...they showed their youth last night...and all american monica wright of virginia went off for like 30 something points...not cool lady vols...ended up losing by -- and we had the ball with 2 seconds left but could not get a shot off...i'm sure coach summitt was not happy...

***vols played ut martin tonight at 7...they won 91-64...props to brian williams for his double double...but i am not going to give out many other praises...the game was sloppy and we are lucky ut-martin doesn't like to play defense either (and their team was not doing much on offense)...

***gonna do a little look-a-like feature on some of the guys...post comments if you agree or if you have your own look-a-like comparisons...

***currently watching the cats vs the tar heels...uk down 16 at the half...and they had 17 turnovers in the first half...that is terrible...j. meeks had 11 at the half...they didn't seem to get p. patterson enough touches in the first half either...big ups to gary maxwell for reffing the game in chapel hill!

***stephen curry and davidson are playing on espn2...so i am switching back and forth...davidson has a very good looking basketball team...i like.

***lady vols and vols were both big winners on saturday...lady vols raised their 8th national championship banner...fresh off his world series championship, phillies shortstop jimmy rollins was in the house watching his sister who played for san francisco...

***the vols dominated ut chattanooga on saturday night...jp prince was back in action and the newcomers showed that they are for real...s. hopson, t. smith, and j. prince had some sweet dunks...the guys shot lights out and gave the crowd plenty to look forward to for the season...

***big week ahead in the sports world...espn is doing a 24 hour basketball marathon on tuesday!!! and i am so pumped...memphis and umass open up at midnight-- with basketball all day and the primetime game is kentucky vs north carolina at 9...two programs with HUGE basketball tradition...the tar heels are facing lots of injuries...and the cats are coming off a opening season loss to VMI...would be a huge boost for billy g's club to get the W in chapel hill...

***10-essee...go titans go...not gonna gloat here...been on their bandwagon before it was cool...so just gonna share a fun article on one of my favorite defensive players-- c. finnegan...

***men's basketball beat tusculum 82-51 on friday night...the vols dominated the first half -- they were up 49-12 at the break...their defense got a little slack in the 2nd and they did not look as on point as in the first half...r. woolridge had some nice minutes, b

. maze dished the ball well with 9 assists, and e. negedu gets down on the block and busts around with major hustle...big fan.

***ut football lost to wyoming 13-7...score says it all...however, as you can see by the picture above we got a pic/quick chat with jason witten!   super nice guy...wish he would of brought t. romo and/or TO up to rocky top with him...but i won't be picky...

***lady vols had another dominating exhibition win on sunday...those freshman are talented and i think they will surprise a lot of people who are expecting the lady vols to be down...very poised group to be so young...

***both basketball teams back in action on saturday to open up regular season play...football has a much needed bye week before they head to vandy on the 22nd...

***there was some shake up in the college football world on saturday...

*penn state got upset (thank gosh) by iowa...the sec and big 12 thank you hawkeyes...

*alabama and lsu game went into overtime-- with bama pulling it out and saban escaping death valley...the atmosphere at lsu seems sooo crazy and fun...very sad i have never been able to experienc

e game day there...

*texas tech with hot graham harrell had no problem against oklahoma state...the little tom brady junior threw 6 td's and upped his case for heisman...

*the gators are just rolling right now...the matchup with them and bama in atlanta is going to be sweeeettt...percy harvin and timmy tebow amaze me...

you heard it here first -- my prediction is they are national champs...

***go titans go!!! we are 9-0...so glad they are moving along and this week they showed that they are more than a defensive and rushing team...home field advantage here we come!!!

welcome to my world.......

good day to all from knoxville...i have decided to start my own blog...i am a dedicated daily site seracher/blog reader and end up sending friends and family all sorts of random links, so i figured why not let them come to me...

gonna share a couple big things going on in my world this week...

***basketball season is here!!!!
it is 128 days till selection sunday...and i cannot wait...obviously, i am pulling for my vols...but being an avid college b-ball fan -- i have my eyes on a few other players of interest...here is a quick mention of a few (non tennessee boys) i give props to...

-stephen curry, davidson: he earned major hype last year after leading davidson to the elite 8...he even got love from lbj...

-patrick patterson, kentucky: big power forward, with a big load on his shoulders...eager to see if he can take the place of r. bradley and j. crawford for the cats...
-chris warren, ole miss: big andy kennedy fan and warren was the freshman leader last year...he is small, was under the radar, and one of those guys that was all over the court...and i like that...
-ronald steele, alabama: poor guy has had such a battle with injury...i hope he is finally fully healed...reallyenjoyed watching him as a sophomore...
these are just a few of my favorites for the upcoming season...will update teams/players of interests when needed...



***now a little about volunteer basketball..men opened up exhibition play in knoxville on monday...left a little to be desired but that is expected...j. prince and j. tabb both were not dressed which gave fans a chance to see more of the new guys...not gonna make any opinions on what i think of them yet...will give more next week after watching their game on friday vs tusculum...
the two-time defending national champion lady vols open up exhibition competition tonight vs carson newman...very interested to see the six newcomers...and how the lady vols will be without parker and hornbuckle...

***obviously the buzz on rocky top is concerning the football program...it has been an interesting week for the history of ut and i am eager to see how it plays out...i hope the guys play their hearts out for coach fulmer and all the staff...and show that they are better than 3-6...

***you might be wondering who i want to take over the helm of our f-ball team...honestly, i have been wondering that myself...i have gone back and forth on a couple prospects...and i have decided i do not have a clear cut favorite...so just someone that will pump up the tennessee faithful, get the guys on his side, keep the recruits we have committed, and get to work for the 2009 season...

***election: it is over...enough said...

***gossip girl: chuck bass is my favorite...good solid episode this week...how bad ass for little j to crash a huge philanthropic banquet with the upper elite in nyc to show off her designs...

***so britney and justin are set to perform tonight at madonna's concert in la...that will be major hot...not a fan of madonna -- but after seeing jt live in nashville 2 years ago (thanks becca) -- i can only imagine what ms spear's and he could do up there...
