i turn my swag on...

good day blog readers...here we are...fresh off graduating with my master's in sport management...i am sitting in my cube almost unemployed wondering where to go with my life...

i have been meeting/discussing/talking with some people i respect in the business-- hoping to get some guidance and inspiration...i am very grateful to these people for taking the time and i just have to remember to be patient...so until i figure out where/what i am doing...i figured i could update the blog...

nba playoffs. loving the celtics. big baby's game winning shot was nuts. i was pumped for him...i am not necessarily a fan but he was so hype and played game of his life. what a rush man. i remember seeing him play in knoxville and all i thought was, "wow that guy is big and slow"...playing for a spot in the nba finals not a bad deal...so props to g. davis. major love for rajon as well...love watching him play...he is soooooo quick- the matchup with him and d. rose was nutso! those 2 pg's are going to be very exciting to watch over the coming season.

speaking of d. rose, his former coach at memphis, j. calipari has really gotten things going in lexington...that fan base is crazy and now they have a coach that loves the spotlight and attention-- it's going to be fun times in UK land i feel...he's talking about make their big blue madness happen at the football stadium with ashley judd and justin timberlake helping out...not gonna lie i would be jealous...if j. meeks comes back for them the next season they are going to be very fun to watch.

i didn't even mention the derby yet...another great trip up to churchill was had...my girl blair hooked us up with grandstand seats this year and we did it up right!

ok now going to better myself and do something physical...melting pot tonight with the ladies!

word to your mother.

one shining moment...

so i survived the detroit area/final four this past weekend...another successful trip and good time...spotted a lot of "stars" in the basketball community as well...

detroit was nicer than i expected...which might have been because i had prepared myself for terrible conditions...but anyways...not the best host site for the event though...yes ford field is huge and brand new...but the "extra" benefits the city had to offer were mediocre...
however, they did have casinos...and if they didn't have casino's i think people would of jumped in the river from boredom...ha.

i had my first out of the country experience while in detroit...we made a jaunt over to windsor, canada...there was another casino there (see a trend?)...also some decent late night spots...customs was interesting...and people judged my hot pink passport cover...but i just said hi haters!

went to adidas party on friday night...good times for sure...mixed and mingled with coaches and players from all over...

fave coach run in: university of kansas coach, bill self
self was just recognized as coach of the year and fresh off the 2008 NCAA national championship game...he was very cordial and answered all my random questions i had for him...we ran into him throughout the weekend and he would always stop and speak...call me a new self fan!

fave player run in: davidson university guard, stephen curry
curry was adorable and easy to talk with...

pics to follow come shortly.

dollar dollar bills yall....

ok ok...so its been quite some time since last posting....my apologies...

obviously there has been lots going on since last reporting...

what is on my mind most right now is these college basketball coaching changes....wowzers.

*the money/benefits kentucky just gave to calipari is crazy...i mean i would take it too! (i knew i should of applied for that job)
but when is a university going to say enough is enough...money talks. but calipari has never even won a ncaa championship...yes he does have the charisma, the backbone, the recruiting, and winning records over the last few years- so we shall see...lets hope this hire bodes well for the cats...i like the hire for them-because i am not sure who they would have gotten had he spurned them...
*kinda like arizona now...reports are out that tim floyd of USC is going to be the next wildcats coach...but i am not sold on him...i feel as though he is fishy...the one thing i do like is master p's son- lil romeo- played for him last year...fun fact!
*rumors on the net are that memphis is offering our own ut boy b. pearl $21 mil for 7 years...allegedly bruce is/has interviewed...we shall say.

*motown thoughts:
so the final four starts up this weekend...i do not have a clear cut favorite in the field...i like/appreciate/pulling for different people/teams for random circumstances...ha.

after seeing UNC play 2 games in memphis, i left very impressed with t. lawson...kid is quick as a cat and has great composure for leading his team...not impressed with t. hansbrough- kid was over animated and i felt had a bit of an attitude...the media loves him though and gives him praise- a la dane bradshaw - but his overall ability i feel is over rated...

not a fan of really anything or anyone UCONN...sorry bout it but i hope the cheaters on the men's and women's side lose...moving on.

i appreciate s. reynolds of nova...read some good articles on him and his last second drive to put them in the final four was sweet...(where was the defense pitt?!) and jay wright is a top notched dressed coach...i appreciate that as well!

everyone is loving the feel good story of michigan state...everyone is hoping it can give some joy and excitement for the state...i respect t. izzo and i have enjoyed watching raymar morgan since last year...poor kid has a broken nose now but i have a feeling the spartans will be ready and look to rep well for the MI.

quick little update...post comments or give feedback!

just live your life...

what it do what it do.......

its been a while...too long actually is feedback i have received from thelittlerooster fan base...i do apologize and hope to get back on the blogging boards...

time for a quick countdown to important dates!

today: p. summitt is going for her 1,000 career victory!
4 days: till the cover girl for sports illustrated swimsuit edition is revealed on david letterman!
10 days: till live pink- bleed orange big monday!
27 days: till britney in the A!
32 days: till i am in tampa working the SEC men's b-ball tourney!
41 days: till march madness begins!
57 days: till final four in detroit!

**props to the vols and new coaches kififn and company for some great additions to the UT football family...jump on the lane train now!

**basketball legend pat summitt is going for her astonishing 1,000 career victory tonight against georgia...p. summitt is the all time winningest coach in men's and women's history...this still just amazes me...there have been some great features on pat and this milestone...major props to her and the lady vols!

**ok all the drama with jessica simpson and weight gain is kinda getting on my nerves...and then all these stars come out and defend her -- which is great if they truly mean it...

whatev..i just love the reports that allegedly that tony was out in LA with a few ladies other than j. simp...haha who knows!

ok more post later......

1.12.2009

51 days until britney in atlanta
62 days until march madness
79 days until the final four
114 days until graduate school graduation

start of my last semester of graduate school...woo woo! enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend of ballgames, girls day, and movies...

sad finish for my titans...but if you don't have the ball you can't score...3 turnovers and way too many penalties...its hard to win...and just think -- we just lost by 4...needless to say we had our chances...

the vols finally got a W this weekend against geo
rgia...still don't think they are playing very good but to get a road win is always a plus...big game versus billy g and the cats on tuesday night @ 9 on espn2...

the lady vols lost a tough one on the road at vandy...i would have hated to be on that bus ride home...game was sloppy and no one really stepped up...

so the golden globes were last night...and my fave dressed celeb was eva mendes...she looked gorgeous! and i love loved her jewelry...

so tom brady and gisele are officially engaged now...rumors swirled around christmas that tommy boy had popped the question...but allegedly it actually happened over the weekend...props to them...they are very pretty people.

supergator tim tebow is returning to florida next year...i figured he would...he seems to truly enjoy the college game and he is a hero to so many...if spikes and harvin stay they are going to be scary good again next year...i see the potential to resemble the 2006/2007 gator basketball back 2 back champs...with the tandems of noah, horford, brewer, and greene...gator nation would be really lucky...

saw bride wars over the weekend...cute, fun girl movie! great scenery in nyc and the wardrobe was top notch..would def recommend

hope everyone has a lovely monday!
